Usage analytics and privacy
We use analytics to understand whether visitors find useful content and return to the fan archive.
Usage analytics in this browser
Checking preference…
Turning this off stops future usage tracking and clears the analytics identity cookie and session. Existing records expire under the retention policy. Reading, voting and posting remain available. This preference applies to this browser and resets if you clear site data.
A dedicated pseudonymous cookie distinguishes browsers. We record pages, key actions, language, device category, approximate country and the first source of each session. Votes, cheers and lounge posts contribute only their successful save, never their text. For LIDIO, we measure playback states, observed listening time, feature use and errors, without video IDs, search terms or playlist names. For site error diagnosis, we also record the release and line/column in this site’s built code files, without error messages or full stacks. Analytics identifiers are separate from participation and moderation identifiers.
Raw events are retained for 90 days. Browser and session records are removed in scheduled batches 90 days after their last activity. The cookie renews for up to 90 days on use; 30 minutes of inactivity starts a new session. Analytics tables do not store names, email addresses, post text, raw IP addresses or full URLs. Separate short-lived network hashes protect requests.
Shared photos/GIFs, nicknames, captions, tags, sources and selected members become public immediately and do not expire while the service operates. Photos are resized, and metadata including location and comments is removed from photos and GIFs. If you opt in, your image can appear with your nickname on the home background and in member spaces right away, and leaves the background if reported until it is checked. An operator can also take it off the background only. Posts that opted in before this notice do not appear on the home background. Likes on the site’s own photos use the same pseudonymous identifier as hearts, only to prevent duplicates. A background you pick from your own photos stays in this browser and is never sent to the server. Delete your photo using its deletion code or the code saved in this browser. Contact the operator if both are lost. Deletion immediately ends public access and removes the file. Hearts and reports use a pseudonymous browser identifier separate from analytics and are removed with the photo. Rate-limit records are deleted in scheduled batches after three days.
